Are you looking for a place where the waters are clear, the skies are blue, and countless stars stud the sky at night? Would you like to wander through remote and picturesque fishing villages? Then pack your bags and visit the offshore islands of Taiwan!

Penghu is known as the pearl of the Taiwan Strait, being crowned as one of the World’s Top 10 Best Kept Secret Islands by The Lonely Planet Guides. It is praised as an island with breathtaking scenery and a touch of nostalgia. It’s a nesting ground of endangered green turtles, and was listed in 2013 by the Most Beautiful bays in the World Club.

Composed of 90 islands with a total of 320 kilometers of shoreline, Penghu offers different moods and sights during the different seasons of the year, thanks to its diverse geographic environment, climate, rich cultural resources, and natural ecology. Penghu’s magnificent ocean views and unique geologic features make it full of many natural wonders.

Basalt columns sculpted by the elements are a dominant part of the geological landscape. Geologists worldwide have named it “God’s Stone Sculpture Park.” The clear waters of Penghu Bay and strong winter winds have put Penghu on the map as an international hot spot for competitive sailing alongside the Caribbean and southern Spain.

The islands host brilliant firework festivals in the spring and summer. In the fall and winter, visitors can enjoy the fresh and delicious daily catches at the Penghu Seafood Carnival. Penghu is also an excellent choice for seaside fun with blue seas, clear skies, soft white beaches, plenty of beach and water recreation facilities, amazing marine ecology, and scenic beauty.

In addition to the main island, tourists may also visit islets like Paisha, Siyu, Cimeiyu, Wangan island, Hujingyu and Tongpanyu. These scenic spots are part of the unique and wondrous beauty of Penghu.

Penghu offers offers something different to satisfy and delight all visitors. From snorkeling & sport fishing to sightseeing & eco-tourism!
